Description:
Remember those long summer days when you where
a kid. Playing in the water, running through the park and enjoying
life. Why not make a stop at Waimea Bay such a day for your
kids to remember. Spend the morining at Waimea Valley Audubon
Center and take a dip in the pool of Waihi Falls. Then head down to Waimea beach park.
It is a nice place to spend the day
soaking up the Hawaiian Rays. Relax on the beach during the day while
letting your kids play in the surf when the ocean is calm. Then grill
up a BBQ dinner in the park as the sun sets on the sea. Waimea beach
offers a wide beach backed by a park with picnic areas and
restrooms. So pack up the portable grill and ice cooler and head on
over to Waimea beach park.
Note: Because of
the small parking lot and the popularity of this beach, parking can
be a hassle. |

Directions:
From the historic town of Haleiwa travel about
3.5 miles on Kam Highway. |

At the far west end there is a large rock out
cropping which youngsters jump off of into the warm waters
below. Great to see the fun times they have here.
Below: Of course there is a sign warning you not to use the
rock for diving. Dose no t seem to stop anybody. |

Caution: During the
winter months the North Shore is know for it's large swells.
So, if the surf is up take care before entering the water.
Talk to the lifeguards about current conditions and take
their advise. |
